I am regularly captivated by fleeting scenes–some real and others imagined. Rather than savoring these transitory moments, I find myself snapping pictures in an attempt to freeze nature's ephemeral beauty. Similarly, waking from a vivid dream, I am aware of its elusiveness while I scramble to scribble my dream in the dark. I am constantly trying to recover the images and feelings that are forever lost. The artistic process corrupts the purity of the original that has slipped from my grasp. In this process, however, a new experience and original is created. My artwork is an exploration of the journey that takes me from one original to the next.
